With humility I return to florals as a point of departure in my still life paintings. A bouquet of flowers conjures moments of great joy love, happiness, and sometimes sorrow. I usually capture them however at the moment they represent their greatest potential, before they are about to reach their most beautiful state. As if to circumvent the passage of time that is the moment I freeze in time to savor and enjoy forever.
