The question or quest of an image becomes the genesis and path along which the work travels. This work must be open and broad and not focused on arrival or conclusion. The essence of the action is drawn from images of remembrance, past and present, recollections of objects used, people touched, recollections of moments, or long passages of time. The sources of such disparate images as they coalesce in the medium drive the work. Prolonged addition, removal, consideration, and upheaval render painterly evolution. Everything must be included and yet all may be removed in order to feel the tension and presence of recalled emotion. The search is in the paint, its physical possibility and passionate presence. The unforeseen glimpse becomes the relish of a full heart.
